Entanglement Criteria for Continuous-Variable States

چکیده
Entanglement is an amazing feature of quantum mechanics which is a nontrivial non-local correlation between states. It is studied and exploited greatly in the field of quantum information. Traditionally, most quantum systems of interest in quantum information is described by discrete variable states, e.g. spin of particles. Thus, entanglement is studied to a considerable extent in such state. Nevertheless, in practice, there are a number of quantum systems that must be described by continuous variable states such as electromagnetic fields in quantum optics. Thus, it is also important to understand entanglement in the context of continuous variable states. In particular, to be able to study entanglement properly, it is very necessary to find a method to identify whether a state is entangled or separable and to quantify how much entangled a state is. This report is a review of several criteria and measures used to deal with entanglement in both Gaussian and non-Gaussian continuous variable states, including some prelimary backgrounds.

Unconditional teleportation of continuous-variable entanglement
We give a protocol and criteria for demonstrating unconditional teleportation of continuous-variable entanglement ~i.e., entanglement swapping!. The initial entangled states are produced with squeezed light and linear optics. We show that any nonzero entanglement ~any nonzero squeezing! in both of two entanglement sources is sufficient for entanglement swapping to occur. In fact, realization of...

We derive several entanglement criteria for bipartite continuous variable quantum systems based on the Shannon entropy. These criteria are more sensitive than those involving only second-order moments, and are equivalent to well-known variance product tests in the case of Gaussian states. Furthermore, they involve only a pair of quadrature measurements, and will thus prove extremely useful in t...

For continuous-variable systems, we introduce a measure of entanglement, the continuous variable tangle (contangle), with the purpose of quantifying the distributed (shared) entanglement in multimode, multipartite Gaussian states. This is achieved by a proper convex roof extension of the squared logarithmic negativity. We prove that the contangle satisfies the Coffman-Kundu-Wootters monogamy in...

Entangled states have been known almost from the very beginning of quantum mechanics @1,2#, and their somewhat unusual features have been investigated for many years. However, recent developments in the theory of quantum information @3# have required a deeper knowledge of their properties. The simplest system where one can study entanglement is represented by a bipartite system. In such a syste...
